Webphones

Featured Replies

Have you tried webphones. My wife has been using a webphone for over a year now. She can keep in touch with her family and it's not that expensive. The family village has no land line, so we bought them a mobile the last time we were in Thai. The cost is 17pence per minute Thai land line---18 pence per minute Thai mobiles---8 pence per minute Bangkok land line. This service works from any country to any country. The web site for this service is  (www.callserve.com )

I have used www.net2phone.com for the last few years.

I call to the UK frequently for 2/3 baht per minute, the quality is ok if you call during quiet times (thai daytime). I'm sure it will be perfect if you have some type of broadband service.

It is great to have an inexpensive way to chat with friends and family, I'd be a little lost without it (or atleast poorer for having to pay TOT 50 baht a minute).

Cost's of www.net2phone.com:

Calling from UK to Thailand $0.19/8Bht/12p p/min

Thailand to UK $0.05/2.15Bht p/min

Thailand to US $0.04/1.72Bht p/min

Quality will depend on your ISP and location (i.e. Patong, Phuket, no chance).
