For 'Trumpsters' on ASEAN - who will be the first to crack?
Even before the first 100 days of Trump 2 have passed, the chaos is obvious. It's much worse than Trump 1. In a minute or two, I noted a list of things that have gone wrong. It's frightening for America, Americans and the World as a whole. Just 86 days have passed. 1. Relations with historic friend, ally and neighbour, Canada, have hit a hostile all time low and will not be easily repairable as long as Trump and his cronies remain in the picture. Add to that a list of other offended allies, including Denmark, Greenland, the UK, the whole EU, Mexico and Panama. No other Country, (except El Salvador), is likely to place trust in Trump or the USA. 2. Far from 'fixing' the Ukraine-Russia conflict in 24 hours, in 86 days there has not been any noticeable progress at all. In reality, Trump has betrayed Zelesky and Ukraine in the most callous and cruel way, appearing to be supportive of Putin and even blaming Ukraine for starting the war. For the USA's former Allies, the thought must be, 'With Friends like THIS !!' Unless matters change for the better, no Country is likely to trust the USA again for a long time. 3. Trump has already brought the USA to a constitutional crisis by his ignorance of and denial of the law. The Trump gang are unabashed by consistently lying whenever they need to or not. 4. An important SCOTUS ruling has been defied (so far) by the Trump machine and that's despite the voting being 9-0 against the Trump Administration - noting that even the Trump devotees on SCOTUS voted against the Adminstration. Abrego Garcia and many others received no 'due process'. 5. You can take it for granted that Women's Rights are under assault - as promised in the Republican manifesto. 6. Re. the favourite word, 'Tariffs'. Trump's behaviour has been relentlessly farcical and economic predictions for the USA are widely thought to be parlous. At the moment, nations or Industries have no idea as to what will stick. 7. I understand Trump's concern about the 'trade deficit'. And indeed carefully targeted tariffs could be a tool in tacking the deficit. Together with interest rates, taxation policy, manufacturing incentives, exchange rate stability and a myriad of other measures. But Trump has been so dumbheaded that the continuance of the US$ as a reserve currency, may be under threat - indeed China holds vast amounts of short and long term bonds which if they sell, may collapse the $. 8. The bullying now of the world famous University at Harvard is a disgrace. Freedom of speech - huh ! 9. The security breach in the Hegseth incident is absolutely shocking - these Guys are wild Amateurs. RFK Junior is an out and out liability and that list goes on - in fact, it's hard to give any Member of Trump's Administration any credibilty at all. 10. Republican voters are booing their speakers at many events. The header asks, who will be the first to crack - to admit that Trump is proving to be a disaster. Or are you Trumpian, come what may? Surely, with a shotshow like this, one of you devotees will admit it's a mess. Surely one or two ASEAN Trumpster posters must have doubts now? God Bless America. -
