Does anyone have any experience for this.

A friend who is 85 years old and had lived here in Phuket for more than 30 years just returned to the USA. His daughter had to come and help him home. I ask before they left if they had done a change of address and closed his post office box. Of course his daughter said every thing was taken care of.

He and his daughter just called and ask me to close his PO Box and take care of the change of address. Does anyone have experience for this. What documents ect?

The post office should have a form for you to fill for the change of address.

Unless he's getting a refund or a deposit back, the box will close automatically when they don't pay to renew it.

Plus, I rather doubt that the Thai post office will forward his mail on to the U.S., at the expense of the Thai post office.

Might be better to keep the POBox open for a few months, track the incoming mail, and send out notices to the senders directly of the address change. Suggest this to the daughter, she might send a few baht to cover postage for such.
