One dead and suspect arrested following ambush in East Pattaya

PATTAYA:--One man was killed in an ambush involving a rival gang on Sunday Night in a small poorly lit road off Soi Siam Country Club.

Police were called to the area and were told by witnesses that four shots were expelled as the victim and his friend drove past them on their motorbike. Khun Anuwat aged 25 was rushed to the Bangkok Hospital Pattaya suffering from gunshot wounds to the chest area but despite the best efforts of medical staff, he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the bike, Khun Song aged 26 told Police that the two men were on their way to a friend’s house in Soi Nong Nay Temple after spending the evening at a local Snooker Hall. The rival gang members, who were identified by Khun Song only targeted the passenger, Khun Anuwat, who was shot after the pair fell from their bike following the initial round of gunfire.
