Gallowspole
I have a Golden retriever and this morning she has suddenly developed a large 'growth' in her ear flap. It's about 4cm long, shaped like a rugby ball. Soft to the touch. She doesn't seem in distress. She has a 9 month puppy, although he dwarfs her, and they play quite hard together, biting each other's ears, neck, tails, etc. Any ideas anyone? Gallowspole
30 mins later.... Just back from the vets. A burst capillary. He drained the ear and gave an anti-infamatory and antibiotic injection. If it swells up again she will probably need surgery to sort it out, he said. BambinA
the one u see called "aural hematoma" it was from capillaries in pinna raptured from shake primary cause - itchy /irritae from ear canal such as ear mite ,otitis externa ,yeast infection ..etc Tx. 1 aspirated +drain 2 surgery after fixed hematoma .. you have to get rid the primary cause too ..if u dont do it, it will get hematoma again
