Ah, Now I Understand Why Cm Air Is Filthy

Featured Replies

The March Citylife features an interview with Pakorn Buranupakorn, Chair of CM Provincial Administration Org who oversees 211 administrative bodies and a large budget. The article unintentionally (?) provides great insight into why there are so many failures of public administration in Thailand, and CM in particular. He claims that the annual CM air pollution has been largely resolved and improvements "are being seen". Perhaps if the air wasn't so filthy I would be able to see these improvements too. I imagine at present he is too busy to devote much time to the air issues - his private development company made 1.5 billion bht last year, and he expects 4 billion profit this year. (BTW, aside from environment and transport he is also in charge of land planning and zoning in CM province). And it seems his close ties to the Shinawatra family will ensure even greater political success in the future. I can only hope that then he will seriously re-visit the air quality issue - if not, he may face problems trying to sell all of those condos he is building for falang.

I will go back in A few years and test the quality.Right now it's to hard on me.
