I want to go visit Thailand for 6 months. What type of visa do I need for a six months stay in Thailand? Can I get the necessary Visa from a Honorary Consulate? The longest I have stayed previously is 64 days. I would prefer not to do a Visa extension trip, but I will do so, if this is the way it is done. I am 56 years old. I have a State pension.

You can try for a multiple non-O visa based on retirement. This will give you unlimited entries into Thailand during the validity of the visa. Each time you enter Thailand you cna stay for up to 90 days, than you have to leave but can retun the same day. (as long as the visa is still valid).

Alternatively you get a double entry tourist visa, each entry good for 60 days and esch entry can be extended by another 30 days. So it would be 60 day = 30 day extension, leave the country and another 60 days and 30 day extension.

The multiple non-O is the most convienient.

Also cheaper than two tourist and two extensions of stay for a six month stay and have the option to stay longer or convert to retirement extension of stay if decide on staying.
