Perthite
Air Asia always uses fake sales for marketing...and the prices on their website vs at the counter are never the same, and they do not provide free water or snack on the CNX-BKK route like Nok Air does. Good thing their stewardesses are hot. Agreed.
roamer
FLY-THRU (Connecting flights) All-in-fare from Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur - Perth THB 4,990 Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur - Gold Coast THB 5,990 Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur - Sydney THB 5,990 Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur - Melbourne THB 6,090 <snip> Sometimes cheaper to book separate sectors rather than through fares, check first before paying the through fare. If it is cheaper, just ensure there is enough connecting time, use their times as a guide. But ... if you are transiting through the LCCC at KL, (say BKK - KL - OOL/SYD etc) and have booked your through ticket accordingly, then you don't need to go through Immigration, collect your bag, go back through Immigration etc. When did that change then ? I flew Langkawi- KL- Bali with AA last year, tickets all booked same time and had to do the bags, immigration return to immigration etc ? And my daughter doing Melbourne- KL- Penang told she would have to do same routine only last month.
David48
Hi there roamer... you really made me question myself! I flew through the LCCC April 2011 OLL (Gold Coast) - BKK (Bangkok). Transit only. Will supply details in next post.
David48
Our new FLY-THRU service makes things easier for you! Now you can conveniently connect between 2 different flights via transfer hall, with a minimum connection time of 90 minutes! Fly-Thru Available Gold Coast > Bangkok > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Singapore > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Bali > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Hong Kong > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Jakarta > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Hangzhou(Shanghai) > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Phuket > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Chengdu > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Ho Chi Min City > Gold Coast Gold Coast > Seoul – Incheon > Gold Coast http://goldcoastairp...-with-air-asia/ http://www.airasia.c...en/tf_step.page http://www.airasia.c...htschedule.page http://www.airasia.c...n/tf_intro.page Not available all flights ... don't know why. But Coolangatta to Bangkok was definately a Transfer Lounge trip. With your daughter, Penang is an internal flight, hence she would have to go through Immigration in any case? David48
Instructions Upon arrival at the terminal building, head left before the escalator to proceed to the transfer hall. If in doubt, please follow the direction as shown on the directional signage or speak to our staff. http://www.airasia.c...en/tf_step.page EDIT: Of course you will have to have booked a through flight and not individual tickets ... just a disclaimer on the information! roamer
Thanks for the info David. As you said, not available for all flights so have to be careful there. "With your daughter, Penang is an internal flight, hence she would have to go through Immigration in any case? " Yes and that's why you have to be careful to allow enough time because apart from those thru flights AA is strictly point to point carrier. If your delayed and miss the connection, and only if the cause of the delay was their fault will they try to get you on the next flight, and if that happens to be fully booked etc..... Not knocking AA, just saying its best to make sure you have ample time for connections.
