Processed Peas/Mushy Peas - Canned

Featured Replies

Hiya - I had a can of processed peas sitting in my cupboard for ages and I thought I had better get rid of them before they went out of date. I searched online and found a great Indian curry recipe to use with them and now they are gone.

Ironically, I loved the recipe and want to make it again but I can't find another can of processed peas! I have looked in Tops, Rimping, Northern Farm. Kasem etc but can only find the normal unprocessed garden peas.

Has anyone seen the processed ones anywhere by any chance?

Cheers

Kasem store might be an option..........

Thanks for the suggestion but tried them already! :(

Seen about 3 different types in Big C in cans but don't know what they are exactly.

Don't ask Peter Mandelson, because he tends to confuse them with guacamole. Not much call for mushy peas in Notting Hill.

Processed peas? I am not too sure but if you are refering to the kind of peas that you get with fish n chips, I bought mine canned from tops. Which outlet you went to?

Tops & Rimping have similar.

Mushypeas need to be Marrowfat Peas, not easy to obtain in Thailand, I am given to understand.

For a lot of Indian food you can also use split peas. I've seen those around.

If you take a can of the Thai processed peas..(usualy hard) and boil them for a while they end up with something like mushy peas. I ususaly add some sugar and salt.

Although not quite 'fish shop' style a lot cheaper than the imported Bachelor cans
