Man arrested following purse-snatch from Russian in South Pattaya

PATTAYA:--A Russian Couple walking back to their hotel were involved in a bag snatch in the early hours of Thursday in Soi 6 off the Pratamnuk Road in South Pattaya.

Mrs. Irina Fionina aged 29 was approached by the suspected thief; Khun Wiriya aged 19 who stole Mrs. Fionina’s purse which contained 1,000 Baht in cash. Thanks to members of the public who were close-by, the suspect was able to be detained quickly and the Police were called. At Pattaya Police Station, Khun Wiriya claimed this was his first attempt at committing a crime and with the end of the month approaching he realized he was unable to pay his rent
