Puccini
Well, if it weren't so contradictory in terms, I'd say this is another nail in the coffin of Thai tourism. Seriously though, why does the article only mention Viagra and not Cialis and Levitra? This smells like politics might be involved. Not that it matters though, as under-the-counter everything is likely to be available at any time... I hope still at the time when I reach an age at which I'll need these products. I have been wondering in an earlier post in this topic whether "Thailand's Food and Drug Administration, FDA, has decided to ban erectional dysfunctional medicine like Viagra and its generic equivalents (Elonza)" in the OP could mean all medicines for the treatment of erectional dysfunction, giving Viagra and Elonza only as two examples of that type of medicines. We'll have to wait and see what the regulation says once it is published, I guess.
KamalaDreamer
...We ain't communicating Maestro. And we're bloomin' off topic again. Dr. Ekkarin Fugmyleksomboon's topic? Light year speak with forked tongue too.

Maestro
Aye, the ignonimous FDA spokesman Ekkarin Fugmyleksomboon who thinks sexual pleasure is immoral and against government policy. Sorry, that was a distortion, he actually said that for a man to take a pill to get an erection for the purpose of having sexual pleasure is immoral, etc. I wonder what his problem is. Puccini
Doesn't have a pharmacy where he lives. I happen to know what margin a Thai pharmacy has. Buys for 100, sell for 150. That's a 33.3% gross margin on the selling price. I don't envy them for it, though. They deserve it.

Maestro
You're off topic again. Make an effort to add in at least two words that would make your post on topic At what price do Viagra and Elonza sell in Thailand? They're all asleep in Thailand now, I should think, but perhaps you know, KamalaDreamer. (Is Kamala the name of a woman you dream about, or is it a brand of beer?) Maestro
That it is a "her" is enough. No details needed. I was just wondering. Might have been the name of a beach on an island in the South of Thailand, for all I know, but I think I am mixing that up with Kata, on Samui or in Phuket or wherever. Naam
Back to the topic now, guys. Puschl mentioned something about Pfizer's cash cow, meaning Viagra with its sildenafil. Hasn't the patent on sildenafil already expired? Which wouldn't necessarily mean, of course, that Pfizer wouldn't be able to continue to cash in on its overprized Viagra. It's just that I have been waiting for over two years for the Pfizer shares to go up and I am still in the red. a New York judge has extended Pfizer's patent rights (which expired a few days ago) another 7 years till 2019 but that is limited to NY jurisdiction only. Yme
Dr. Ekkarin continues: "As the drug is not necessary for the treatment of any life threatening condition and its usage is so hard to control, it is better to ban altogether, so we are putting the drug in the same category as heroin and amphetamines. So one could possibly get life imprisonment for possessing Viagra. Insanity! Actually, Viagra IS used for life saving medical treatment. It's used to reduce pulmonary arterial hypertension.
