Never seen it in Thailand but the last time I bought some was in Cambodia where it was 11$ for a bottle of 70% . Never touched it since coz it does do crazy things to you. Seriously the last thing I remember was opening the bottle. And this was 5pm on Christmas day. I had had a few beers as well but even so. Don\t know how much we all had but my wife and the driver had to carry me out of the cab and get me in the house. Totally incapable. Another reason to go to Cambodia I guess !!

Lao Khao is a decent substitute.

They could give me for free, i would not have it..Undrinkable stuff if you ask me !

I was very curious to try it, and a friend had a bottle...I never knew the meaning of "bitter " until i tried that stuff.

If i wanted to torture somebody, i would give them some gorgeous cake, and after that, absynthe !!

So you want to dance with the green fairy, I actually love that stuff, I reckon it gets bad press, because people try and drink it in shots, like Jager etc. I have had it in Amsterdam with a fountain slowly dripping over sugar cube, which helps that astringent taste, just like Pernod, Ricard, or any of the Pastis, or even green Chartreuse I reckon. Nice and refreshing. Better than Ouzo.

or even green Chartreuse

Yummy, seriously, I spent a couple of years living around Isère, I remember some of it.... the yellow stuff is popular as a light drink, green is heading into danger, and if you can get brown (trust me, if you don't reside there you will never find it) that is a real walk on the wild side.

I never knew that, I quite like yellow chartreuse, reminds me a little of Galliano, with subtle honey notes, thegreen i like as well. i have never heard of the brown, perhaps one day I'll stumble across it.
