Anyway what are my options for this? My visa is due to expire late on this month can someone please point me in the right direction and say that I dont have to go to hongkong to do it :(

It is impossible to answer your question without knowing your nationality.

As you mention Hong Kong, this indicates that you may be British; is this correct?

If so, then you do need to apply to Hong Kong; see Replacing your lost, stolen or damaged passport.

I can't help you with regards to renewing your Thai visa, so have moved this topic to the Thai visa forum where hopefully someone will be able to advise.

From your reference to Hongkong I guess you are a UK national. You will have to apply for a enw passport, as a damaged passport is generally considered to be invalid.

Look on your embassy website for details on how to apply for a new passport. if need be, you can also apply for an emergency passport for emergency travel and means of ID.

HI there,

Sorry posted this last night whilst angry left out the details.

Yes I am UK national, does this mean I have to go to Hong Kong or I can apply at Bangkok and they will just post me it

Follow the directions given in the link in post 2, just click on the blue line "replacing... etc."

You apply by mail and send a copy of you passport, not your original passport. If needed, you can apply for an emergency passport.

Is your visa expired or do you have an extension of stay from an immigraiton office? if the last, once you have a new (emergency) passport, you go to them and have the stamps transferrred.

As said you do the new full passport by mail but it is taking up to four weeks to receive and from your post you do not have that much time if you can not extend your stay (can you?). So either you obtain a temporary passport directly from Embassy to tide you over (get a new entry) or you may have to overstay and pay fine of 500 baht per day on exit with new passport and hope you are not checked before getting to exit immigration (unlikely but could be short jail stay if happened).

Do you have a 60 day tourist visa entry that has not yet been extended? If you do immigration might allow use of torn passport to extend 30 days if you explain you need the time to obtain replacement.

I have a non immigrant o visa single entry its still in perfect condition as is my photo but the pages are all torn out. It expires around the 24th or something of this month I think. I will go to the immigration office here in Jomtien and see what they say first then if they cant extend it weigh up my options. if it can be done by post that is great.

That type of entry can not be extended more than 7 days (actually a non approved extension) and may require proof of exit ticket; but nothing lost is asking them (although understand it can be a very busy place) after you get the latest estimate for new passport issue.
