How Do You Hold The Stearing Wheel?

10 to 2, or one handed with thumb and forefinger, maybe some other techniques?

And how far away is your position from the wheel (straight arms, 45 degree angle) or something in between?

This is a serious question, not trolling. I have seen the most 'unusual' ways of holding the steering wheel and the distance of said item from your body.

I use my knees, while using my hands for fiddling with the stereo, gps or trying to get a beer out of the cooler on the back seat......

But to be serious, I prefer ten past ten rather than ten to two. Just seems more comfortable.....

How far away from steering wheel........ always car seat right back and partly reclined, arms very slightly bent and at 10 - 2, of course this is in my car, in the pickup much closer, and a Thai car err almost on top of the wheel, and try not to go round to many corners.. steering wheel hurts my belly.

Thai cars take me back 40 years when my Grandfather bought a Morris 1100/1300 manual, no way could I change gear even with the seat fully back, the odd times I did drive it had to miss 3rd gear altogether, after getting into 4th it hurt my leg after time..

On a serious note

I drove for a living for about 20 years so I am contented

to let the good wife do the driving now.

Only drive if I have too.

Oh!!! That's what you meant? Not me ever!! My wife (or for that matter anyone else either) will never drive with me in the car as long as I'm half able as that would still put me at least a half up on their driving..

My wife uses the joystick, & then we crash sad.png

Thats why we drive an auto.

Place right foot on clutch pedal, or where it should be on a auto, and adjust seat so that the leg is extended but you are not stretching.

Then adjust the seat back and/or the wheel position so that you can just touch the top of the wheel with the heel of you hand.

Original question I tend to be a 9:15 or 2:45 guy and my vehicle has zero seat or wheel adjustment.

Should I start a new thread on how to adjust door mirrors or hijack Semper's thread?

City: 10 and 2.

Highway: Right hand at 4.

Country road: No hands, my 4 yo sits on my lap, and she drives.

When the wife and I are on the same seat, I have 1 hand on the steering wheel every 4 or 5 seconds to correct the line.

When are they going to bring out an auto pilot feature?

Very good, now if I tried that would have to take drivers seat out, problem with that is could not then reach the steering wheel,.........

Never noticed so many problems before but here with Thai built car, now i cannot buy what I want but what will fit. where do people with big feet put there left leg and foot ? impossible to get between peddle and center bodywork, cannot put flat on floor as knee then jams the steering wheel + very uncomfortable...

I am big and tall, inside leg 93 cm [36.5"] feel 48 [13 UK size] .........The BT50 is much better then the 3 Isuzu's I owned before, tried 3 car models of Toyota, cannot drive, old Jazz was OK, new one not so good, Civic impossible to drive.. What to replace the Audi A6 with? budget of 1 million or under is not easy.

The suspect, who made no attempt to flee, waited for the police and stated he had been overcome with emotions before pulling the trigger. The incident occurred on the evening of 3 March, in Ban Dong Noi, Dong Mafai subdistrict, Mueang district. Emergency responders from Sakhon Nakhon Hospital’s 1668 command centre were alerted to an unconscious person, but upon arrival, they found the victim had already died at the scene. The deceased was identified as Mr. Them, 51, a former village headman of Ban Dong Noi. His body was found lying on his back, wearing a jacket and long trousers, with a gunshot wound to the right side of his torso, which had penetrated his chest. Nearby, officers discovered a gun leaning against a water jar and a spent shell on the ground. The gunman, Mr. Pholsak, 47, was the owner of the house where the incident took place. He called the police himself and was found sitting underneath the house, waiting to surrender. He admitted to shooting the victim from the upper floor, hitting him in the back as he walked towards the bathroom, from a distance of around 12-15 metres. Emergency responder Thanatorn, who arrived at the scene, reported that the suspect insisted he would not flee and repeatedly stated that the incident was a result of emotional distress he could no longer contain. As tensions ran high, police quickly took him to Dong Mafai Police Station, fearing reprisals from the victim’s family and local villagers. The victim’s wife, 46, said her husband and the suspect had been cutting tree branches together earlier that day after a storm had caused damage near the suspect’s house. They had lunch and continued drinking together, while she returned home about 100 metres away. She later heard a loud gunshot and was called back to the scene by a relative, only to find her husband lying motionless. She was shocked by the killing, as the two men had been close friends. While rumours suggested the shooting stemmed from jealousy over alleged messages between her husband and the suspect’s wife, she dismissed these claims, stating there was no evidence to support them. A witness, 18-year-old Mr. Hai, who had been helping with the tree cutting, said the suspect appeared heavily intoxicated before firing the shot. After shooting, he allegedly turned to Hai and asked, “Shall I fire another?”, prompting the young man to flee on his motorbike in fear. Neighbours also noted that the suspect had been jealous of the victim’s friendship with his family, leading to mounting tensions. At Dong Mafai Police Station, forensic officers collected gunpowder residue samples from the suspect’s hands as part of the investigation. When questioned about his motive, he remained silent. Police have charged Mr. Pholsak with murder, while the gun used in the attack is being examined further. -- 2025-03-05

      Picture courtesy of SiamChon Thai police are investigating the discovery of a corpse covered with a fertiliser sack and plastic bags in a wooded area near a highway. Authorities in Huai Yai, have launched an investigation after a decomposed body was found dumped in a forested area off Highway 331 (Sattahip – Chachoengsao). The remains were covered with a fertiliser sack and plastic bags, and police have yet to confirm the victim’s gender. On 4 March, Police Lieutenant Nevin Suntavanik, an investigator from Huai Yai Police Station, was notified about the body near kilometre marker 25+400 in Pong subdistrict, Bang Lamung district. Officers, along with forensic investigators and rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation, were immediately dispatched to the scene. The body was located approximately 50 metres from the main road, inside a grove of acacia trees. It was in an advanced state of decomposition, suggesting the victim had been dead for several days. Nearby, police also found a pile of discarded electrical wire casings, with the copper stripped away, raising suspicions that the area might have been used for illegal wire scrapping. Police cordoned off the area and called in Chonburi Forensic Police Division 2 to assist with the investigation. A cassava farm owner, who first discovered the body, has been taken in for questioning at Huai Yai Police Station as part of the inquiry. Investigators are now working to determine the victim’s identity and cause of death. -- 2025-03-05
