How Long Do You Stay Mad?

Featured Replies

I'm perpetually mad, but I save it rather than show any of it in the public.

I'm not mad, I'm just misunderstood.

Actually my daughter does call me "Dad". But there is no fooling her, at 6'1" and 185 lbs, balding and white she doesn't confuse me with Thai. I thought it was very very cleaver of her to see the differences between two cultures. She also refers to herself as Farang with other Thai's. When her cousin stayed with us she use to also say her "Dad" was Farang with a great deal of pride. I'm just thankful that she see's the big picture with no hang ups or saying one is better than the other, just that there is a difference.

Again I'm not saying one is better than the other, just that there seems to be cultural difference. Kind of like Sum Tum VS. Turkey Sandwitch.

Thanks for all the replies to the thread.

Think its a male female thing. Most females can stay angry for ages and remember stupid things of years past. Guys usually forget and forgive. As most guys here interact with females it might look that Thais stay angry longer.

Ahhh!!!! I dispute that!! In fact, wont be talking to you for a very long time now due to that insensitive inaccurate totally WRONG utterly appalling misguided representation of the fairer sex..!!!! angry.png

..er yeh, anyway, cant comment for other women of course, but i would say i pretty much prefer a harmony over moods. However, thats also down to the person who upset me. ..as in, if they did something to offend or upset me, and showed no sign of consideration or regard, i would of course not stick a smile on my face and be ok with it. If however a genuine mistake was made or an apology etc, then its done with.

..except those couple of days once a month when i seem to randomly turn into Mr Hyde on and off over slight nothings.. erm..those days i would prefer are written off as temporary insanity...

I don't think you can generalize that Thais stay angry about all things longer...but I do think that when you make a Thai seriously lose face, it's something they aren't likely to simply forgive and forget.
