April 11, 201214 yr Can anyone here confirm the REAL (i.e none of the fake add ons) list of costs for a company importing machinery? Import Tax is 1% - Already discussed this with the Customs Dept. What other costs are there (genuinely) after the box (1 cubic meter and 50kg) arrives at the port? The machine was sent from the UK. On the Bil of Laden it gave the name of the "Agent" here. They have sent me a bill for 13k (baht) broken down like this 1.Customs Clear : 2,500 thb 2.Tax : 6,134 thb 3.DO : 3,231.40 thb 4.Customs Fee : 200 thb 5.ware house : 96.30 thb 6.4 wheel truck : 900 thb Total : 13,061.70 thb On the paperwork they sent I've realised firstly that they have categorised the import at 30% (even though it should be 1%) and also changed the value of the machine down from 900 GBP to 300 GBP (Personally I'd choose to pay 1% of 900 quid than 300% of 300) Does anyone know what the .DO charge for 3k is?? Obviously the small fees sound right (clerical government/storage/transport) Any insight would be appreciated Cheers Quote MultiQuote
April 11, 201214 yr Looks reasonable, a bit on the expensive side and a mess: did they send you that form on which the calculate the tax first? The right way is: you send them the invoice. They send you the calculation, you confirm it, they clear it. Normally everything is cheaper when it arrives per air not per ship.
April 11, 201214 yr Author Wow, I thought that there would be some real knowledge here - but I guess not - Lol
April 12, 201214 yr Author So no one knows, lol. Well these are the true costs as we just did it ourselves. Import tax 1% .DO (delivery order - from ship to warehouse) 3000bt All in was 7800bt - 50% less than the agent was charging.
