nonthaburial Posted December 23, 2005 Author Share Posted December 23, 2005 I e-mailed a UK company explaining my predicament and was told that without a credit card I am considered as a credit risk and that the hire companies do not wish to hire out their expensive assets to some cardless person who might disappear with their cars. However it was explained that if I arrived in the UK during office hours they could run a credit check on me and if I was considered OK then cash could be paid. I find this statement very inflammatory and will now be writing to all airlines telling them to change their flight timings so as I can arrive at Heathrow during office hours Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

taxexile Posted December 23, 2005 Share Posted December 23, 2005 although not answering your question about credit card bookings , this company www.1car1.com will rent new vauxhall corsas for about 100-110 pounds a week including ins. and vat. they are about the cheapest in the uk. based at all the airports. efficient and reliable company. sierra01 Posted December 23, 2005 Share Posted December 23, 2005 Have you tried asking any of the international hire companies here? Ask a CC owning Thai friend to pay for you? Pay cash at Heathrow?
