MaprangHolmes
I want to send some items back to the UK it does not really matter how long it takes I would guess the weight would be about 30 - 40 kilo anyone got any ideas of a cheap way to send the items back thank you
CharlieH
Int Parcel surface = 6k baht Int Parcel Air = 12k baht based on 30 kg, Thai Post Office service. The problem is going to be when it arrives in the Uk, import duty etc. Parcel force will charge 18.00 minimum for administration. koolbreez
The cheapest way is as excess baggage when you, or someone else you know flies back to the UK. It is only about bt4k for up to 35kilos for excess baggage charges, and it is there when you, or your friend lands. Any duty can be payed on the spot if it exceeds the duty free allowance. That is the cheapest, and surprisingly fastest way shipping something back to the UK. It is much cheaper than postal, or DHL.
UKJASE
splitting it into 7 kg boxes and sending through the post office may avoid uk charges...... boxes of 7kg cost about 2300B for SAL - which takes about 2 weeks to arrive the ones i have sent very rarely get opened or requests made for tax
CharlieH
"someone else you know flies back to the UK. The import issue and tax depends I suppose on what is declared on the paperwork and how it is valued and worded. WilliaminBKK
Check this site out it will give you an idea of the charges, I would suggest you verify it with the airline as well. CharlieH is spot on you cannot ask someone else to take your luggage on your behalf http://www.iflybags.com/passengercharges.aspx

Unaccompanied baggage doesn't fly anymore. If you want to send it air freight, it has to go through a shipping company who is registered with the airline. The OP could use a surface freight forwarder, long time to arrive, but possibly the cheapest way.
