News_Editor Posted April 20, 2012 Share Posted April 20, 2012 Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda is expected to announce plans to waive 300 billion yen (US $3.7 billion) in debt owed by Burma when he meets the country’s president in Tokyo on Saturday, according to a report by the Asahi Shimbun newspaper. “Following the debt waiver, [Japan] plans to resume full-fledged yen loans to the country for the first time in 25 years,†the daily said.
