Jail Chief Transferred As Officials Raid Thai Prison

Featured Replies

Hope the transfer of chief is not a process of transfering the 'opportunity' to enrivh another.

'A five-hour-long investigation showed the illicit-drug-stuffed bags belonged to no passengers and Weerapong sae Wang, a young man hired to label and arrange luggage in the bus, was the most likely suspect.'

And hope thei\ above judgement is not baseless accusation of another victim just to close the case. I shall give them the benefit of doubts.

Amzaingly only in the country.

Now the price tally for MP's phones and i-pads adds up at 50M Baht proposed. They give them at the going rate, to their inside suppliers, to keep on top of their external, exterior and ultimate business plans!!

"Nakhon Si Thammarat Governor Wiroj Jiwarangsan said officials at the Nakhon Si Thammarat Central Prison should be transferred to root out the problem."

So the will get transferred to work in another - so they can do it yet again?

why not behind the bars?prison?

Once you are an Thailand Government employee, doesn't seem to matter you you do, you only get transferred.

Cops that get caught as blatant drug traffics, get transferred. Not arrested and Jailed.

Because that would cause a loss of face. A "transfer" is their silly way to skirt around the issue.

Or how about paying a decent rate to the officials so they don't have to take bribes.

There will always be dishonest ones but a decent rate of pay would sure cut down on them.

I wonder if we will ever here about the person who made the call warning of the search two hours before it started.

Odd that the newspaper never goes after them for corruption and getting at the source of the problem. Amazing that they have no surveillance videos, lockdowns, drawdown accounts with limits. Most amazing is that they continually go after small fish and never run it up for Mr. Bigs and carry off Mr. Bigs in handcuffs and have trials. For example, who is getting the skim money on these 350,000 telephones all the way up the line? It's the lack of investigative journalism and free independent opinion that promotes an environment that fosters criminal behavior inside and outside of prison.

Maybe the govt should just turn the prison into a Call Center. There would be little upfront cost if requiring the prisoners to use their own cell phones/tablets. This would also provide job training. To keep the prisoners motivated in the job the govt may also want to provide the prisoners a percentage on every sale (whatever the govt decides the Call Center will sell) to build-up a nest egg to start their new life after prison.

This could be a major step in turning Thailand into a Call Center Hub....well, just as soon as the rest of the world learns how to speak Thai so they can understand the Call Center sales reps.

Far out.....You are a funny guy. I am still laughing. Good call (no pun intended)

Excellent recommendation! Much more prudent than just having them bang out license plates.
