How Do A "Non Immigrant O Visa" Aka Guardian Visa

Hello,

I am french & live in Sisaket.

I came in Thailand with a single entry tourist visa, then have one-month extension, then have 2 months because I had a son.

My visa end 3 may 2012.

Now I want to have a Non Immigrant O Visa aka Guardian Visa.

Someone could give me the procedure to do it.

The most you will probably get without going to Europe is a Single Entry Non Imm O Visa giving you 90 days.

They expect you to get an extension at Immigration.

12 Month Extension requirements.

(1) The alien has obtained a temporary visa (NON-IM)

(2) Proof of family relationship

(3) In the case of a spouse, the marital relationship shall be de

jure (legitimate) and de facto;

(4) In the case of a child, adopted child or child of his/her

spouse, the said person must not be married, must be living with

the family, and must be less than 20 years of age; or

(5) In the case of a parent, one of parents must have an average

annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a

money deposit of not less than 400,000 baht for expenses within

a year.

You have to be the legal parent. Name on the birth certificate is not enough.

so I cannot have this visa in one of the ASEAN ambassies?

i don't really want to come back in France, especially for only 90 days, maybe when i come back in Thailand they don't give me this visa...

May be it will be better to do visa run with double entry as long as possible...what do you think about it?

By the way thaivisarun.com charge me 25,000 baht for one year visa extension, additional 10,000 baht for changing Non O visa without leaving Thailand.

Do you heard about this company?

Changing to a Non Imm O Visa at Immigration costs 2,000 Baht.

Applying for a 12 Month Extension at Immigration costs 1,900 Baht.

Looks like you paid a lot of money.

As has been said, important is that you are the legal father and not only on the birth certificate.

Embassy in the area might give you a non-O visa, if you can show birth certificate and ID card etc from mother, including a note asking for a visa for you to stay tgether and take care of the child. However, no guarantees.

Actually i haven'y got 400 000 bath so i look for someone who can lend me 400 000 bath to apply for this Guardian Visa.

I think i am the legal father because the amphurs we go appear at the amphur together to register the birth of the child and baby have my name in birth certificate.

If i cannot find this 400 000 bath soon, i think i have Ventiane and do double entry visa...

Or maybe think about mariage when i will have this money...no problem with baby and visa, isn't it?

You are not the legal father just because you are on the birth certificate.

Vientiane embassy give me a Non Immigrant O visa, single entry with this document

birthcertificate, ID card from mother, a note asking for a visa for me to stay together and take care of the child.

Now next step immigration office for extension.
