Zen
I sometimes send money back to my own account in my home country as "personal savings". Usually i do this by telegraphic transfer via Bangkok Bank easily just show my passport n work permit. Recently the bank asked to see my salary slip, saying they need to verify that the savings i'm sending home is reasonable amount. I was surprised coz in the past never had this problem. I dont send money home often so its not really a big problem for me, but i just wanna know if anyone here had the same experience?
Superdude
Why do they need your salary slip. If you have your salary coming in the account of the bank you are using to sent the money, then they can find it in their system how much you earn. But maybe it's again something about the laziness of them. I had this also in the past but to avoid troubles I just gave them a copy of my salary slip. Don't be surprised if next time they ask you to see some proof about your funds really saved on your account abroad.
