Visa For Laos

I would prefer to get a Visa for Laos at the embassy in Bangkok and I just have a couple of questions I wondered if anyone would know the answer to

1. after lodging the Visa application how many days approximately does it take before you can pick up your passport?
   
2. after you have received the Visa how long does it remain valid before you actually enter Laos?

I was going to ask the exact same questions.

The visa is valid for 60 days from the date issued but I don't know how long the process takes.

I did read somewhere that it is a same day service. It would be nice if someone could confirm this.

It is same day service. I recall some reports stating that they are issued while you wait for it.

Seems to me it's one or two days, as in turn application this morning, pick up either tomorrow afternoon, or the day after.

However, they did (still do?) an express service, pay baht 400 for visa while you wait, 20-40 minutes.
