Roads To Bangkok

Featured Replies

Driving to Bangkok soon, first time for a while

The last time the roads around Tak were awful

Anybody done the journey recently have any comments on the road conditions

Southbound the roads are good. Heading north from Nakhon Sawan to Tak it's poor, though the easterly alternative isn't much better.

Done this route twice in the last two months and the roads are fine.

A little rough in places but depending on what you're driving will depend on how bad it feels.

Was very bumpy in a pick-up the first trip but very nice in a Lancer EX the second time.

There is a bypass on the way back which cuts a lot of the rough section out and is considerably quicker but I can't remember exactly where it is as I wasn't driving.

I drive these roads every few week. I did yesterday

Roads down and better than comming back

Between Tak and NS there are some rough areas. And 50 km south of Tak the road is torn apart and gravel for a short stretch. Making new insted of patching.

The road is better than say 6 months ago with lots of work done. But still some more is needed

If your going a sane 100 kph you will be fine.

If your at the speed limit of 120 use caution over that, may the force be with you !

look for signs for the Kampheng Pet bypass just south of Nakon Sawan and it cuts out the town centre which is being heavily road worked.

Does the Nakhon Sawan bypass still require a U-turn when going South, or is there a ramp now?

no mate, you just turn on to it now. No U-turn required. It's well signposted as the main route to BKK as well.
