Are pugs difficult to keep? I find them hilarious-looking (cicada-face) and would love to own one. Do they have respiratory problems due to their nasal configuration? Thanks in advance.

Pugs have got a few problems with breathing, but its easy too avoid any problems.Just buy a healthy dog and keep it cool.Clean its face and tail daily and give it some ice if it gets hot.Ive never had a pug,but my bulldog has the same

problems.

bracheo-cephalic breed always has problem with respiratory tract prob (and u can see pug snore)

dermatologic prob - yeast /seborrhea /dermatitis

dermatitis around skin fold(on face)

exophthalmic breed..its easy to have a prob with eyes popped up / dry eyes /conjunctivitis

well do not worry .. it just something that you'd know if u wanna feed dog ..and any breed has own weak points

i dont mean all pugs have to had these problems ..just some

Skyline, Bambina, Mitmig,

Thank you very much for your valuable input. I figured that these dogs require a little more effort in keeping, but they are worth it on the visual entertainment value alone. Will keep you posted if I find one I like. Regards,

K

I have a Pug (MIMO).

Yeah they do have that respiratory problem. Whats important is to control his weight, if it gets too fat he will face much more problems in breathing. The normal Pug should be around 10-10.5 Kgs! You must not keep him in humid places, he can get water in his lungs!

One of the greather problems, is the Pug has a very sensible skin, very prone to skin disease or rashes. After a baht should dry him very well!

The Pug is a bit delicate, but he is great lovely dog....very playfull!!!!!

my friend has several pugs, they seem happy enough, and fairly well behaved, while not too big.

Usual pedigree various problems, but no worse in Thailand I think than elsewhere. they seem to get very excited from time to time, which is quite a nice trait.

Hi,

I have a pug and i have had him since he was 8 weeks old, he is now 9 months.

They are excellent family pets, but they do need lots and lots of attention.

They are not recommended for people who work as leaving them on their own all day is not good.

They are the most gorgeous affectionate breed going, and i love my VIGO to bits.

Whitz
