bangkaew
i have a satellite that i get setanta on. 2 days ago it said 'scrambled'. Does anyone know if it now requires a subscription card?
astral
The scrambled signal certainly suggests that you will need a card for continued viewing. Check their web site http://www.setanta.com/asia/WatchSetanta/Thailand/

bangkaew
thanks for that. I phoned jsat yesterday and they said there was a 'new' script. Does that mean there is now a subscription or that you can only get it through True/Astro etc?
bangkaew
re setanta, jsat have posted this; Well it seems the only solution to watch Setanta now is via Truevisions as out lined in their reply to us today which is not what they said last year, but time and agreements march on it seems, and too bad even if we are prepared to pay for it as originally said .. --- quoted -- Thanks for your email. We have concluded an exclusive deal in Thailand with True Visions so unfortunately we are no longer able to offer the service direct to businesses in Thailand. We did keep the signal unencrypted until we had built up distribution but with the territories we have now we have reached sufficient distribution. Just so you know, True Visions would only agree to an exclusive distribution deal so this was the only option to move forward. Thanks, Conor if you live in phuket can you pick up the malaysian signal or is the malaysian signal now only available on astro? can the 7' black satellite dish be used to pick up astro or true? is there a way to unscramble the signal from setanta? many thanks for any help. jsat
if you live in phuket can you pick up the malaysian signal or is the malaysian signal now only available on astro? Astro is the Malaysian Network can the 7' black satellite dish be used to pick up astro or true? Yes, but you have to change the dish position and dish electronics / LNB to suit the network you want to use, and then you will need the set top box and subscription from that network. is there a way to unscramble the signal from setanta? No, not unless you are to get a system from them, but they will not sell anything to a Thai address / within Thailand as mentioned above in the quote you took from our web site - http://thaisatellite.tv/home/the-general-help-desk/1569-setanta-sport-details.html
