Tgf And A Cruise In The Med

Featured Replies

Hi Gents....

First post, so forgive the newbie question.....

Would anyone here have experience taking their TGF on a cruise in which several countries are visited during the ship ports of call?

I'm looking to take her on a Mediterranean Cruise starting out of Italy which stops in Greece, Turkey etc. I have an email in to a friend who is in the business but not sure he'll have the answer.

Anyone have first hand experience with a cruise starting in Europe/Italy in particular?

Thanks

Mr777

Your Thai friend will need a Schengen visa plus a visa for every non-Schengen country to which the cruise brings her.

The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place

She should apply for her Schengen visa to the Italian embassy as she will, presumably, be flying into Italy to pick up the ship.

Make sure she gets a multiple entry visa!

See here for a list of Schengen countries.

I understand that because she is on a cruise her Schengen visa covers her for some (all?) of the non Schengen countries; I think this is the case for Turkey, for example.

The best people to advise would be the cruise line or agent through whom you booked the cruise.
