Market Vendor allegedly punched in the face by Chonburi Prison Officer over money

CHONBURI:--A female market vendor has accused a Prison Guard of punching her in the face over an outstanding debt.

The vendor and the alleged aggressor both reported the incident at Chonburi Police Station on Tuesday and predictably both sides had different versions of the incident. Khun Ganyar aged 46, the market vendor, clearly had injuries to her face consistent with an assault. She claimed to have lent the Prison Officer, Khun Sitiyar aged 59 and his wife Khun Boonchoop aged 45, 6,000 Baht which Khun Ganyar wanted back.

The two sides met on Tuesday to discuss immediate payment but discussions broke down and the Prison Officer is accused of attacking Khun Ganyar. The Officer and his wife also filed a Police complaint suggesting they had only borrowed 3,000 Baht from Khun Ganyar who disrespected the pair.
