Mayor announces major new improvements for Pattaya

PATTAYA:The Pattaya Mayor attended the monthly meeting of the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association at the Green Park Hotel in Naklua, the Mayor, Khun Itipon, was there to make a number of major announcements, including confirmation that during his first four years in office, he had completed 154 individual projects in and around Pattaya.

The first topic of discussion centred on the new rail link from the Suvanabumi Airport in Bangkok to Pattaya which is currently under construction although final plans for the entire route are yet to be confirmed. The benefits to local businesses and the tourism industry of Pattaya were discussed. Secondly, the Mayor confirmed that construction of the new underpass at the Central Pattaya intersection with the Sukhumvit Road will begin in October following final approval from the Ministry of Transport.

Although traffic disruption will be common in the area during construction the Mayor was quick to point out the long term benefits to motorists who will now be able to avoid this busy junction if they choose to.

What about the numbered bus routes in Jomtien?

I wonder if they talked about what they will do when the tunnel floods. You know it's going to happen. smile.png

Many may choose to avoid the busy Central Pattaya intersection by not visiting Pattaya by car for some time when the word is out about the road works. Not sure who wins in this scenario.

100+ alleged projects yet he can't even curb the jet ski scum scammers on the beach for a week.

Funny how that works.

Another delicious sh@t sandwich!
