I have found one at the "Why Not bar" on Nimmaheiman Soi 11. They have a wine "buffet" for 250 Baht every day during May, 5.30 to 7pm.

This is great value with 6 wines on offer - and they are generous at splashing it about too; although I could only manage five in the time without being a pig. Oh well, must try harder I guess! I especially liked the Pinot Grigio

You can find their Facebook page if you search Facebook for "whynotchiangmai". And no, I am in no way associated with them, although I plan to get to know them better before the end of the month!

Where else has offers like this in Chiang Mai?

Help a brother out. thumbsup.gif

A wine buffet you say, I never knew such an animal existed.

I am a great lover of wine, and have been to many a wine tasting and left "owl faced".

Is it an all you can eat buffet so to speak!

If so 250 baht would make it very much a bargain on Thailand.

Judging my from what I have seen of wine in Thailand, generally way overpriced.

Pinot grigio or Gris, I also love, finding it goes great with Asian food in general.

Am more of a red drinker as a rules though.

All the more reason for me to visit Chang Mai.

Mandarin Oriental do a champagne Sunday brunch. Been a while but last time it was about 2500 baht with free flow "sparkling wine," wine and beer, not to mention a beautiful buffet. Maybe a bit pricey, but it runs for three hours! Last time we went I think they made a loss on our table... hiccup

The Sunday brunch at 4 Seasons Mae Rim has a free flow wine option with the buffet - I paid about 4200 for 2 people

Wine in Thailand is not so much 'overpriced' as over-taxed. A bottle of wine attracts approximately 400% in various duties some of the highest in the world.

That's a bloody disgrace, must be so so frustrating for those who love good wine in moderation.

I don't think good wine could get any cheaper in Oz than it is at the moment.

WIth cancelled export orders, and an over supply.

There is some outrageously good buying through wine clubs and online discount merchants.

I really love wine, and have a well stocked cellar.

Good kiwi finally becoming more afforable here as well now.

That is something I would miss so much if i moved to Thailand and it was beyond my budget there.
