Bangladeshi dies, two others in a coma following drugging and robbery in Central Pattaya

PATTAYA:--A tourist from Bangladesh is dead and two others are in a Coma following a suspected drugging and robbery case.

The three men were sharing a room at the Bella Express Hotel in Central Pattaya where they had checked in on Thursday with the intention of checking-out on Friday Night and were found by their Thai Guide who had planned to take three men to Bangkok where they had earlier attended a Rotary International Conference.

The guide realized that two were unconscious and a third, Mr. Mizanur Rahman aged 54 had passed away. Evidence of a disturbance and forced access to the room safe were collated by Police who were called in to investigate the case. Hotel staff indicated that the men had taken a Thai woman back to their room earlier in the night who had left some hours later. The suspect is now being sought by Police before she has a chance to strike again.

Those Bangladeshi Rotarians are no better than the Pattaya variety...if you know what I mean.

Whatever the drugs that are used for these cases, it is very worrying and many are reported each week at police stations. It was never going to be long before a fatality occurred as I have seen people still very disorientated up to three days after ingesting drinks so the mixture used must be extremely powerful.

I've got a long flight soon. I could use a hit of that...

You sure? One is dead! its absorbed differently from every body. Be careful what you wish!wink.png

As usual, not a CCTV camera to be found. And I guess the front desk also didn't take the girls ID.

It is only an assumption it was a girl .

3 men and one girl ,i wonder did they get a drink each or did they share that as well.

Prostitute's role suspected in death of Bangladeshi

The Nation on Sunday

PATTAYA:-- A Bangladeshi man was found dead and two other Bangladeshis were found unconscious in a hotel room in Pattaya yesterday.

The dead man was identified as Business Chan, 57. Sanjib Saha, 54, and Rashid Harunur, 58, were believed to be comatose and were rushed to Pattaya Memorial Hospital.

Witnesses said they saw the men take a prostitute to their room at the Bella Express Hotel Pattaya.

Police believe the prostitute drugged the men and stole their possessions, as there were no signs of a violent struggle. A drug was found, along with signs that the Bangladeshis' belongings had been rummaged through, and some of their items were missing.

Bangladeshi Rotarians are always targeted.

If the front desk took a copy of her or his ID card as thai law requires then the suspected perpetrator will be apprehended swiftly I should imagine.

RIP Business Chan

Lets hope the other two recover even though there conditions are serious.

Suspect in drugging and robbery case of Bangladesh Rotarians caught by Pattaya Police

15_05_55_1_5.jpg

PATTAYA:--Police have now arrested the female suspect accused of drugging and robbing three Rotarians from Bangladesh who visited Pattaya for a day following a Rotary Conference in Bangkok.

In a joint operation involving Pattaya Police and Pattaya’s Tourist Police, officers conducted a raid of a rented room in Soi Bongkot in Central Pattaya following a tip-off the suspect lived there. Inside the room was Khun Maree aged 33 who bared a striking resemblance to the woman seen in CCTV pictures, leaving the men’s room on the night of the incident.

Also found inside her room were the clothes she was seen wearing on the video images. Khun Maree revealed how she met one of the men in front of Royal Garden Plaza on Pattaya Beach. She stressed to him that she was not a prostitute but was offered 800 Baht to accompany the man back to his Hotel room. She accepted the money and went to the Bella Express Hotel, leaving a stolen Thai ID Card on reception.

Inside the room were the two other Bangladeshi’s and the group began to drink together. The men became more intoxicated as the night progressed and the men allegedly surrounded Khun Maree and began biting her and suggested a group sex session should follow. Khun Maree claimed she was scared and happened to have sleeping tablets inside her bag. She laced all the drinks with the medication, including hers by mistake and everyone fell asleep. Khun Maree claims she was the first to wake up and decided to steal items from the room while the others continued to sleep.

" Bared a striking resemblance ..... "

Who writes this stuff ?

What charge and sentence can be expected for the accused? In my view, this kind of activity is murder. For those that survived, attempted murder. Well, manslaughter actually if there is that distinction in Thai law. But it is a known fact that some people drugged this way WILL die.

Suspect in drugging and robbery case caught

So the death reported earlier must be a suicide. :(

She stressed to him that she was not a prostitute but was offered 800 Baht to accompany the man back to his Hotel room.

Really...

Abusing tourists is the norm around here.

Unfortunately this girl got in way over her head, accidentally killing someone.

Sad.

She stressed to him that she was not a prostitute but was offered 800 Baht to accompany the man back to his Hotel room.

Really...

The other paper reports that she confessed to several past tourist druggings as well. Right, no not a prostitute. sad.png

In the Thai Daily News story on the incident they referred to her as a bargirl.

Nasty, the whole story, dear oh dear.

She stressed to him that she was not a prostitute but was offered 800 Baht to accompany the man back to his Hotel room. She accepted the money and went to the Bella Express Hotel

Well, to me, this behavior mean only one thing.

Good to hear she is facing murder charges. I say throw the book at these kinds of criminals!
