What To Do With A "Double Entry Tourist Visa" ?

Featured Replies

I am a German, staying in Thai since 3 years with Non Immigrant O and now with a "Double Entry Tourist Visa" which I got in Laos (Vientiane). Date if issue 27 Mar 2012, date if expiry 26 Jun 2012, No. of entry 2.

It's my first tourist visa and I am very unsure how to do to get the full validity.

My questions:

1. The validation seems to be 90 days for 1 entry and 180 days for 2 entries. I am right?

2. I have to apply for extension after 60 days by the local Immigration to get 30 more days?

3. Before the 90 days expiring I have to leave Thailand to get the second 90 days visa?

Thanks in advance for every helps.

Harry / Khon Kaen

1. No, 90 days for both entries.

2. No, apply for the 30 day extension before the 60 day permission to stay expires.

3. Make the second entry before the "Use by Date" 26 June 2012.

The expiration date is the last day that you can make the 2nd entry of your visa.

Do an extension of your current permit to stay for 30 days at immigration (1900 baht) then do a border run and re-enter Thailand using the 2nd entry before the date of expiration on 26 June and get another 60 day permit to stay and then extend it for another 30 days as for first entry. After that you will need to get a new visa.;

The consulate in Laos only does tourist visas with a 90 day validity no matter how many entries you get.

Yes, 90 + 90 = 180 days by 2 entries, applying extension and do the second entry before expiring. I understand - thanks so much for your helps :-)

Thanks again for your friendly helps, the extension for 30 days at immigration Khon Kaen worked very well.

I have to do my second entry now (Monday 25. June), I will do it at Nong Khai Friendship bridge. My question is, do I need a VISA for Laos or can I just exit and entry without?

Yes you need a Visa to enter Laos.

You can get at the bridge or at the Laos Consulate in Khon Kaen.

Price around 1,500 Baht.
