Security Guard threatens to jump from North Pattaya footbridge

PATTAYA:--A 51 year old Security Guard was threatening to jump off a footbridge in the early hours of Thursday due to a problem with his employee.

Banglamung Police were called to the footbridge on the Sukhumvit Road in front of the Banglamung Temple and as a precaution other units blocked off the two centre lanes of the main road in case he made-good his threat to jump. Eventually Khun Chuchat, who works for the Sam Security Company, was persuaded to come away from the edge and despite his intoxication was able to explain his employee would constantly cut his salary for an unknown reason.

Instead of approaching his employee to ask the reason for his salary cut, he became more depressed and turned to drink in an attempt to cope with the situation.

I happened to see this story on Pattaya One tonight and the ending remark surprised me:

“Khun Chuchat was taken to the Police Station as a precaution and then released after he realised [sic] that suicide would not be the best option for him at this time.” sad.png
