May 17, 201214 yr We are finishing up renovations on a house we bought and electrician has said we is going to keep the a/c power separate from the rest of the house and not connect to the safe-t cut. He said he is afraid if we connect to safe t cut then during storms powered will cut out too much. I don't know much about electricity but his statement rings of avoiding issues and working things out correctly- on the other hand I have no idea... Anyone know if this sounds right and how dangerous is it for a/c to not be connected to the safe-t cut panel?
May 17, 201214 yr Are you saying that you have a Safe-T-Cut box installed and your spark doesn't want to connect to it??? There's about a zillion threads on this already. Get a new electrician.
May 17, 201214 yr Author He has connected everything except the a/c to the safe t cut. The a/c he has in a separate box. So he is using the safe t cut for most things, just not for a/c.
May 17, 201214 yr Oh sorry, my bad in understanding your post. Yeah - you should be OK with that. Certainly not dangerous. Things that usually are outside the Safe-T-Cut are like refrigerators.
