Good Printed Road Map?

Featured Replies

I'm going to do some driving around, with no particular destination, during our 4 week vacation at LOS. I have loaded my TomTom with fresh and crispy SEA maps. But for ocassional route planning, I'd like to have a up to date road map. Any suggestions?

7-eleven do them for 150 - 300 baht, I bought one just the other day for 199 baht its brilliant in dual language.

By far my preference is the Thailand Deluxe Atlas - by thinknet, it's bilingual & 1:550,000. I have now got the 4th edition, lost the last one

Or lent it out. It was hard to find - couldn't find it in the regular bookshops but went to a huge one in Central Plaza - if you have the time order it online - price on the back is Baht$550

The thinknets are the best. I am kind of a map pervert and looked at all that was available here and found them to be the best. The best map I have is probably the big thinknet blue book of thailand as you mentioned.

You could try maps.google ... I find it's very useful for planning and you can right click on the screen and then 'What's Here' and you get the map coordinates. Then input them into your GPS and press 'GO'.

Yeah, the 3 sources I use are the mentioned Thailand Deluxe Atlas by thinknet, my gps and google earth. I just hook my gps up to the computer and open google earth. It will show you where you have been via your saved routes etc, and you can print screen to show people where you went, or even add your photos. Very cool stuff, all very simple too.

Oh! I didn't know that there was a printed paper version of gmaps also. And even with search capability. Thats cool. Where can I by one?

I got my Thinknet atlas at SE-ED bookshop. There's a pretty big one on the top floor at MBK, but they're in practically every big mall.

I see. Where is the GET DIRECTIONS switch in '09 model Vigo? I can't find blue or any other color one.
