Earthquake In San Sai This Morning

Featured Replies

A small earthquake with a magnitude of 1.7 on the Richter scale was recorded in San Sai district of Chiang Mai province early this morning, the Meteorological Department reported on Friday.

The department’s seismic surveillance bureau reported the tremor at 1.21 am today.

There were no reports of damage.

Obviously San Sai residents are sound sleepers :-)

my friends were up at that time and never felt a thing but will get a surprise to find out there was another minor tremor in their area

1.7 is really small. I'm not sure if it's noticeable especially for someone in bed.

Beware, it might be a forerunner of a heavy one.

1:21 AM eh? well that was about the time the fried green beans, som tom, and soy curds caught up to me.

Apologies to those near the epicenter.

You wouldn't feel on earthquake of that magnitude. Earthquakes of that strength hit California about every couple of hours.
