Lao Visa on Arrival Information

Exemption

Lao visas are not required for nationals of Japan, Korea, Russia, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Brazil (Diplomatic, official or service passports), most ASEAN member countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), elderly aged over 65 and children under 15 years of age. The citizens of these countries and individuals in the age groups mentioned (with valid passports) can enter Laos visa free. This is a 30-day stay, for longer stay, a visa is required.

I think the Savannakhet casino folks have forgotten to inform Lao Immigration of the "over 65" item, sure didn't work for me on 8 May at Thannaleng.
