Big Hot Air Balloon Festivle In Pattaya

Featured Replies

Does anyone know when the next one is?

hopefully never.... they left every conceivable type of garbage on the land they used last year.... they made an attempt of burning some of it ... including the glass bottles....mellow.png .

None are currently planned: the event was moved to Chiang Mai this year and is due to take place there next year.

I wonder why it was moved to Chiang Mai. Events like the Hot Air Balloon festival are exactly what Pattaya needs to move away from its one-product image.

Agreed, Spalpeen, but it has always been very poorly publicised in Pattaya for the four years it was held here. According to the organisers its due to remain in Chiang Mai - Pattaya's loss.

True enough. One year I went up there on the advertised weekend only to find it had been moved to the next month without notice. Pattaya has great potential but it's up to the city administration to make it happen. The only thing they seem to be interested in is those crappy 'music' festivals.
