Anybody happen to know where there are small farms with milk cows near the city?

In particular any that have reddish-brown colored cows?

I don't know the color of the cows, but my gf buys lots of very fresh milk on a regular basis, and if you want to pm me, I will ask for you.

You have something against light coloured cows? Cow racism, shouldn't judge a cow by the colour of it's hide, she is probably a very nice cow inside.

My friend in Mae On has a small dairy of around 75 cows. They also have a plant in the area that processes the milk in that area. Sorry don't have contact info handy at this time.

There are milk cows IN the city. Chew the cud with them at the corner of Huey Kaew and Sirimangkalajan! But there is a also a bull, so be careful!

I too am looking for a dairy where I can buy fresh milk. My preference location wise would be between Chiang Mai and Hang Dong or between Hang Dong and Sanpatong.

Dairy herds out San Kamphaeng way. Try around here 18.734623,99.113524 in google maps. Mostly the black & white ones.

For future reference; they are called Fresians; you'll be referring to zebras next as black and white ones. thumbsup.gif

For thousands of years human beings have milked cows, and consumed the milk.It just makes you wonder- who actually discovered that cows could be milked- and what was he TRYING to do at the time?

I was trying to keep it simple, referring to their colours as in the OP ;-)

Thanks for that. I'm still hoping to find a dairy closer to Hang Dong but it is a good start.

I'm guessing that what the oP is looking for is a herd of either Jersey or Guernsey cows. Their milk is particularly high in butterfat. I lived in Ireland in 1975-76 and back then, you paid a premium for Jersey milk. Don't know what the situation is now.

Actually the particular color of the cow is for religious reasons, which I don't really expect to make sense to anyone else.

But thanks anyways for all the relpies.
