Small"O" Rings In Buna N...Where To Find

Featured Replies

I am looking for some "O" rings for a small valve, and have tried the usual hardware shops with no avail. I am after 5mm rings with 0.5mm cross section. Any leads would be most welcome.wai.gif

Mae Taeng Northbound, 50m past the traffic lights where you'd turn right for Mae Ngat dam - on the right (Southbound side) is a medium sized "shophouse" that's a hardware store.

Last time I was in there they had two or three boxes of various sized o-rings, many sizes including small. Not sure about 5mm but if it's not too far out of your way (I don't know where Buna N is) it's worth a shot.

To clarify: when you say on the right (southbound side) are you saying that if one continued north past the turn 50m and looked to the right, to the east side of the road, one would see this shop?

Yes, it's a dual carriageway and you'll be on the "wrong" side of the road if you're heading North - so you hit the nearest U-turn and you can park in front of the shop - 50m-ish before the lights once you're Southbound...

Tried them, and the smallest they have are for slave cylinders, so much too large. Will check out the other one later today..Many thanks.

You could try Nana Screw, they have 'everything'. Opposite the NE corner of the moat and just around the corner, adjacent to the 7/11.

Going toward the Railroad Station from the bottom of Thapae Rd, about 30 meters before the first traffic light on the left is a screw and tool shop which carries o rings.

I am very surprised that Buna N compound is available in Chiang Mai. Normally neoprene is all that's available because it's cheap. Plz let me know where you found it and whether it actually says Buna N on the box. Thanks

You're welcome. I think it could well be better than Lana Screw but you are after a very special small size so do ask if they can order if they do not stock it. Best of luck.

You might get a "Viton A" in a packet, but I have never seen them boxed. I ended up with a plain Nitrile rubber ring from Nana Screw, no Buna N...
