Does a divorce in Thailand have to happen at the same office it was registered or is any amphur office fine?

Is there a document that states what happens with assets at the time of divorce, or does the couple go to court after?

You can go togehter to any amphur in Thailand to get a divorce, with both marriage certificates.

When you divorce at the amphur, you can at the same time enter an agreement about the assets etc into the register. That is not a requirement.

When married without a prenup in Thailand, you simply split up the asstes that where gained during the marriage. (including any debts). All the two you had before your marriage is left out of it. If you hadd house and 100,000 befoe the marriage and now you have a house and 200,000 you only split 100,000.

Normally you only go to court if you can't agree on the splitting.

Thanks for the response, Mario. Are there document numbers for the divorce papers and asset agreement? I plan to go without a lawyer as I dont want my wife getting any ideas..

The divorce paper has a name, but I.m not sure which form.

The agreement (if you want one) you have to write yourself, or have a lawyer do it for you and probably must be in Thai. The more assets there are to divide, the more important a lawyer will be. In that case get a lawyer for your own, don't share one with your wife.

Thai law doesn't know any alimony, only child support.
