I've been listening to that eva cassidy song *and that firsat post mortem disc of hers for over six years and hardly ever anymore, it gets worse and worse every time I hear it. Insight
One min it goes a bit like this... A lovestruck romeo sings a streetsus serenadeLaying everybody low with me a lovesong that he made Finds a convenient streetlight steps out of the shade Says something like you and me babe how about it ? Juliet says hey it’s romeo you nearly gimme a heart attack He’s underneath the window she’s singing hey la my boyfriend’s back You shouldn’t come around here singing up at people like that Anyway what you gonna do about it ? Juliet the dice were loaded from the start And I bet and you exploded in my heart And I forget the movie song When you wanna realise it was just that the time was wrong juliet ? Come up on differents streets they both were streets of shame Both dirty both mean yes and the dream was just the same And I dreamed your dream for you and your dream is real How can you look at me as if I was just another one of your deals ? Where you can fall for chains of silver you can fall for chains of gold You can fall for pretty strangers and the promises they hold You promised me everything you promised me think and thin Now you just says oh romeo yeah you know I used to have a scene with him Juliet when we made love you used to cry You said I love you like the stars above I’ll love you till I die There’s a place for us you know the movie song When you gonna realise it was just that the time was wrong juliet ? I can’t do the talk like they talk on tv And I can’t do a love song like the way it’s meant to be I can’t do everything but I’d do anything for you I can’t do anything except be in love with you And all I do is miss you and the way we used to be All do is keep the beat and bad company All I do is kiss you through the bars of a rhyme Julie I’d do the stars with you any time Juliet when we made love you used to cry You said I love you like the stars above I’ll love you till I die There’s a place for us you know the movie song When you gonna realise it was just that the time was wrong juliet ? thaibebop
Nice one Kayo. You might like this one. Flogging Molly from the album Swagger, song Far Away Boys. Well I worked on the railroad for t'pence a day, drank down one penny the other I'd save. I hammered and I hammered for God knows how long, well into to maddness with each setting sun. I puy my head down and I dreamt you were here with me by the old tree where no one would care. Far away boys, far away boys, away from ya now, I'm lying with my sweetheart in her arms I'll be found. Then the sun belched upon me you were no longer here, lyin' in your place was my hammer and my gear So, I stamped out the fire that kept us both warm The ashes were fallin' like the snow drops of old. We came to a mountain, dynamite and she'll blow a big hole in the rock like the one in my soul. Far away boys, far away boys, away from ya now, I'm lyin' with my sweetheart in her arms I'll be found. We buried four workmen they dug themselves well. Four empty coffins to four early graves. They're only paddys just paddys don't dig them too deep, you'll need all your strengh boys and they're replaced easily. With the heat I was melting into your sweet lips. Ah you kiss takes me back takes me back from all this. Far away boys, far away boys, away from ya now, I'm lyin' with my sweetheart in her arms I'll be found. Someone said it was Christmas, but not a tree was in sight The only thing that was grownin' was my will to die. Till the gaffer said men your work here is done. I said I'll see you in h3ll on that train we died for. Never again will I smell your sweet dream but a pissed stained ol' gutter where your lips used to be. Far away boys, far away boys, away from ya now, I'm lyin' with my sweetheart in her arms I'll be found.
kayo
Nice one... Reminds me a bit of Driving The Last Spike In the early 1800's, large groups of mainly unskilled labourers built England's Railways. The cost in human terms alone was very high ... Leaving my family behind me not knowing what lay ahead waving goodbye, as I left them in tears remembering all we'd said I looked to the sky, I offered my prayers I asked Him for guidance and strength but the simple beliefs of a simple man lay in His hands, and on my head I gave everything that they wanted but still they wanted more we sweat and we toiled good men lost their lives I don't think they knew what for I sold them my heart I sold them my soul I gave everything I had but they couldn't break my spirit my dignity fought back, fightback can you hear me can you see Don't you hear me don't you see We worked in gangs for all we were worth the young boys pulling the wagons we were digging the tunnel, shifting the earth it was then that it happened. No-one knew how the cracks appeared but as it fell they all disappeared stone fell like rain Can an you hear me, Can you see Don't you hear me Can you breathe The smoke cleared, the dust it settled No one knew how many had died all around there were broken men they'd said it was safe, they'd lied you could hear the cries, you could smell the fear but good fortune that day was mine and it occurred to me that the heart of a good man it seems is hard to find. Can you hear me, can you see Don't you hear me don't you see We worked, how we worked like the devil for our pay through the wind, through the snow, through the rain Blasting, cutting through Gods country like a knife sweat stinging my eyes, there has to be a better life But I can hear my children cry I can see the tears in their eyes memories of those I've lft behind still ringing in my ears Will I ever go back again Will I ever see her face again I'll never forget the night As they waved goodbye to their fathers We came from the South, we came from the North with picks and with spades and a new kind of order showing no fear of what lies up ahead They'll never see the likes of us again Driving the last spike, lifting and laying the track with blistering hands, the sun burning your back But I can hear my children cry I can see the tears in their eyes memories of those I've lft behind still ringing in my ears I will always remember that night, As they waved goodbye to their fathers We followed the rail, we slept under the stars digging in darkness, living with danger showing no fear of what lies up ahead they'll never see the likes of us again by genesis.. thaibebop
Hey, Kayo go and watch Monty Python's Meaning Of Life. That song is in there and the movie is great. Hybrid Rainbow by The Pillows from the Fooly Cooly Soundtrack. Translated from Japanese. It's an almost sinking uninhabited island. It's not on the globe and it doesn't even have a name. Although a ship of hope sailed near us yesterday, it wasn't here to pick us up. We held up, although we held up the prism, which gazed in rapture upon the sun and burned. Can you feel? Can you feel that hybrid rainbow? Although we didn't get selected until yesterday, we are waiting for tomorrow. Our almost deflated airship is floating near the ground. The form of the color that we confused to call, it'll probably be picked by the birds without hesitation. Can you feel? Can you feel that hybrid rainbow? It's definitely not here yet. The limit of endurance is not here. Can you feel? Can you feel that hybrid rainbow? We want to believe it is only half-way here. I can feel. I can feel that hybrid rainbow. Although we didn't get selected until yesterday we are waiting for tomorrow.
thaibebop
The Reflecting God-Marilyn Manson Your World is an ashtray we burn and coil like cigarettes the more you cry the more your ashes turn to mud It's the nature of the leeches, the virgin's feeling cheated. You've only spent a second of your life. My world is unaffected, there is an exit here. I say it is and then it's true. There is a dream inside and dream, I am wide awake the more I sleep, you'll understand when I'm dead. Let's jump upon the sharp swords and cut away our smiles, without the threat of death there's no reason to live at all. My world is unaffected, there is an exit here. I say it is and then it's true. There is a dream inside a dream, I am wide awake the more I sleep, you'll understand when I'm dead. I went to God just to see and I was looking at me. Saw heaven and hel_l were all lies, when I'm God everyone dies. Scar, can you feel my power? Shoot here and the world gets smaller. Scar, scar can you feel my power? One shot and the world gets smaller. No salvation, no forgiveness.
redrus
Rainy Night In Georgia Words and Music by Tony Joe White Classic version sung by Gladys Knight and the Pips. Hoverin' by my suitcase, tryin' to find a warm place to spend the night Heavy rain fallin', seems I hear your voice callin' "It's all right." A rainy night in Georgia, a rainy night in Georgia It seems like it's rainin' all over the world I feel like it's rainin' all over the world Neon signs a-flashin', taxi cabs and buses passin' through the night A distant moanin' of a train seems to play a sad refrain to the night A rainy night in Georgia, such a rainy night in Georgia Lord, I believe it's rainin' all over the world I feel like it's rainin' all over the world How many times I wondered It still comes out the same No matter how you look at it or think of it It's life and you just got to play the game <instrumental interlude> I find me a place in a box car, so I take my guitar to pass some time Late at night when it's hard to rest I hold your picture to my chest and I feel fine (minor scat) But it's a rainy night in Georgia, baby, it's a rainy night in Georgia I feel it's rainin' all over the world, kinda lonely now And it's rainin' all over the world Oh, have you ever been lonely, people? And you feel that it was rainin' all over this man's world You're talking 'bout rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin', rainin' rainin', rainin', rainin' <etc. to end> An absolute classic. redrus Ps; can you hear me sing it people, can you hear me sing....? I dont really know Gladys, but we've talked having to sit next to each other at a couple of events. Shes a nice lady I liked Brook Benton's version better. Tony Joe produced my best friends band first album. Wasn't commercially sucessful, but had some good texas blues rock/ ballads type songs on it. Doesn't matter, we're still friends after 40 years. He's still a musician, and I'm still trying to grow up. Most of what I like tends to be obscure or not really commercial, and as for what I listen too depends on the mood as I'm rather ecleptic in music as well as in life. A tree grows in my backyard, it only grows at night Its branches are all twisted and its leaves are afraid of light They say the blues is just a bad dream They say it lives upside your head But when its lonely in the morning Your bound to wish you lying stonecold dead James Taylor "The Blues Is Just a Bad Dream" The lunatic is on the grass The lunatic is on the grass Remembering games and daisy chains and laffs You got to keep the loonies on the path The lunatic is in the hall The lunatics are in my hall The paper holds their folded faces to the floor And everyday the paperboy brings more And if the dam breaks many years too soon And if theres no room upon the hill And if your head explodes with dark forbodings too I'll see you on the dark side of the moon The lunatic is in my head The lunatic is in my head You raise the blade, you make the change You rearrange me till I'm sane You lock the door You throw away the key Theres someone in my head, but its not me And if the cloud bursts Thunder in your ear You shout and no one seems to hear And if the band your in starts playing different tunes I'll see you on the dark side of the moon Pink Floyd "Brain Damage" Now this was really commercial, but it always picks me up Saw them at Tampa stadium 1973 on the Darkside tour. Was a bit under the weather after having 4 wisdom teeth pulled that day and somewhat under the influence of the pain medication I was taking. I hit a curb and blew out a couple of tires and dented the rims so I had to call my roommates girl friend to take me and the lady I was going with to the stadium. I had backstage passes so I regret having had oral surgery that morning, but found a place to the side of a stage monitor to sit and enjoy the show. It was almost a religious experience, maybe the pain medication had something to do with that, but a weird day and beautiful day all in all. I grew up in an era when humorous songs were popular, and I've always liked them ie' One eyed one earred flying purple people eater, Does your chewing gum lost its flavor on the bedpost over night, My boomerang won't come back, Tan me hide when I'm dead fred etc I can't keep typing out song lyrics and titles, but as with most people on planet music is very important to me

kayo
I can´t believe this has not yet been posted. This song, for me, will NEVER die. 'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony this life Trying to make ends meet, you're a slave to the money then you die I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah No change, I can't change, I can't change, I can't change, Why we now live abroad, right guys...? but I'm here in my mold , I am here in my mold But I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mold, no, no, no, no, no Well, I've never prayed, But tonight I'm on my knees, yeah I need to hear some sounds that recognize the pain in me, yeah I let the melody shine, let it cleanse my mind , I feel free now But the airwaves are clean and there's nobody singing to me now No change, I can't change, I can't change, I can't change, but I'm here in my mold , I am here with my mold And I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mold, no, no, no, no, no (Well have you ever been down?) (I can't change, I can't change...) (Ooooohhhhh...) 'Cause it's a bittersweet symphony this life Trying to make ends meet, trying to find some money then you die I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down You know the one that takes you to the places where all the veins meet, yeah You know I can't change, I can't change, I can't change, but I'm here in my mold, I am here in my mold And I'm a million different people from one day to the next I can't change my mold, no,no,no,no,no I can't change my mold, no,no,no,no,no I can't change my mold, no,no,no,no,no (It justs sex and violence melody and silence) (It justs sex and violence melody and silence) (I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down) (It justs sex and violence melody and silence) (I'll take you down the only road I've ever been down) (Been down) (Ever been down) (Ever been down)(Lalalalalalaaaaaaaa...) (Ever been down) (Ever been down) (Have you ever been down?) (Have you ever been down?) (Have you ever been down?)

redrus
LUCKY MAN (Richard Ahscroft explains- Lucky Man) "I think it's about discovering that you have a lot of love there, and, 'Ain't I a lucky man cos I've discovered it.' Usually, in life, you don't know what you have until it's gone. But sometimes it's about waking up whilst you have it unless it's too late. I think the interesting thing is the 'Oh, my, my' bit. It's like a narcotic rush, like an E rush or something. "I'm not lying to people and saying the world is <deleted> and I never get anything out of it.' Sometimes you've got to have a laugh and embrace the good things in your life. You always have hope, and whatever you have in your life you can draw off it." THE VERVE - Lucky Man, Lyrics Happiness More or less It's just a change in me Something in my liberty Oh, my, my Happiness Coming and going I watch you look at me Watch my fever growing I know just where I am But how many corners do I have to turn? How many times do I have to learn All the love I have is in my mind? Well, I'm a lucky man With fire in my hands Happiness Something in my own place I'm stood naked Smiling, I feel no disgrace With who I am Happiness Coming and going I watch you look at me Watch my fever growing I know just who I am But how many corners do I have to turn? How many times do I have to learn All the love I have is in my mind? I hope you understand I hope you understand Gotta love that'll never die Happiness More or less It's just a change in me Something in my liberty Happiness Coming and going I watch you look at me Watch my fever growing I know Oh, my, my Oh, my, my Oh, my, my Oh, my, my Gotta love that'll never die Gotta love that'll never die No, no I'm a lucky man It's just a change in me Something in my liberty It's just a change in me Something in my liberty It's just a change in me Something in my liberty Oh, my, my Oh, my, my It's just a change in me Something in my liberty Oh, my, my Oh, my, my Well thats almost it anyway. I used to sing this in my band. Quality tune. redrus

You know my email Also wondering if anybody has any Lennon solo stuff, and any cool funky groove stuff like what LJ and Khall have been introducing me to. ´(PS: LJ, Redrus, Khall, for some reason my gmail will not send any music, even when within the attachment confines. Can´t figure it out. Maybe I´m thick, but it just spends 5 minutes trying to send and then returns an error message.)
