Hi there,

I have numerous numbers of birds but I will be moving back to the UK soon and I am looking for a good home with a Farang and with someone who really loves birds and wont be looking to sell them on.

I live in pattaya.

At the moment I want to find a home for my finches and budgies. If anyone is out there is interested please send me a pm.

Cheers

My brother in law lives up north and loves bird. He has over a dozen. from small to huge. He has 2 rai of land out in the country side, Mae Tang. norht of Chiang Mai 1 hour. There he has many large walk in cages and tends to then 24 hours a day is seems, He even hires helper to look after them when he is away. I know I have picked up an Amazon Gray in Pattaya for him and delivered it up to him.

Hiya

I'm living just outside Ban Chang, Rayong, I keep some budgies and finches and also have a few other birds. I dont breed to sell and will be interested in some additions if you still have them.

If you're birds are healthy, I'd suggest contacting Nong Nooch where they will have plenty of room to fly and be well looked after. I gave them 20 or so lovebirds and a similar number of budgies when I needed to close my aviary; they came to collect them, so that solved any transportation problems.

Sorry I totally forgot about this thread.

I have 5 finches all very healthy, 4 budgies really healthy, 1 was sick a few months ago and doesnt seem to have recovered so I dont want to give him away, would prefer to take him back to england with me and live in the house.

I also have a red parrot, 2 hanging parrots and 2 love birds. I would prefer to take them to england. I will 100% be taking the parrot with me but im not sure if the hanging parrots would like living outside in england, the parrot will be indoors. I know the love birds can survive outside also but not sure how they would handle the change in temp especially as I will be going near winter.

Will take some photos when I go change their seed and water shortly and get them up here.

I live almost next door to there, will go back maybe this week to see what it was like for the smaller birds.

Ok these are the finches, 4 of them here, 2 of the larger species and 2 of the smaller ones, get on fine together, I also have 1 smaller one that lives with the budgies that I got from the petshop who had been getting attacked by all the others, its grown to be a lovely looking finch now and strong but I dont want to rock the boat putting 5 together especially when there are 2 houses and both sets like to go in their nesting boxes together.

These are 2 of the budgies, I put them in the cage away from the other budgies as they picked on the sick one, the yellow one used to be mates with the sick one but she just too strong for him now he doesnt want to know but she wont leave him alone.

These are the other 3 budgies, the blue one at the front is the one who doesnt seem himself any more. The yellow one has red eyes. 4 females in total.

These are the hanging parrots, they sleep and rest like bats, sleep upside down, very good looking birds.

And this is my Parrot, anyone have any idea what species it is? Also I got him because 1 he loves to dance and 2 he didnt look in good condition in the pet shop, all his feathers on his chest were gone. I was told this was from stress as his mate was sold without him and so he started plucking them out. Anyone know what I can do about this? He showers all the time so I dont think its from mites.

I had just bought all the equipment to build a really nice big aviary but then we decided to move to england so that plan went out the window. Looking for really good homes for all but the parrot.

Looks like a Chattering Lory, from Indonesia. I had a semi-tame wild one in Sulawesi three decades ago!

They must have water to bathe in, hence the showers, as well as plenty of Vitamin A and pollen which you can feed with the nectar.

Before you can import your Lori to the UK you'll need a health certificate as well as the other forms/licences, but the feather problem may well just be stress and feather plucking - Loris need a lot of company and should never be kept alone.

That may be the problem, when hes in the uk he will always have company, here I rent the house so I am not allowed pets indoors. Any idea where I can get nectar from? I take it the little hanging parrots would love nectar too?

Just been reading up on them, it says not to feed them seed? He has been living off sunflowers, peanuts and other parrot type foods since I got him. I do give him apple every day and sometimes banana but the lady in the shop said he should eat seed. I take it I need to change his diet then, that could be why his feathers are not so great also.

I'm a bit surprised he's still alive at all. Lori's will eat some seed but their main diet is pollen, nectar, fruit, and green veg like chickweed - not too much greenery or they'll get diarrhoea and that's the last thing you want with a fruit-eater as they do make a mess - and not sunflowers seed and nuts! The pollen's a must with Lori's as they need it for protein, and you should change the nectar every day. Even though he's had the wrong diet, be careful not too change it too quickly or that could kill him (or her), and be careful with bananas (not too green, not too ripe).

Thank you for the help! I do give him an apple every day maybe thats why he has been ok. Are sunflower seeds and nuts not good for him? Do I still continue to give him them? Where do I buy things like pollen from? I have also been adding a vitamin suppliment to his nectar.

I've never had a Lori here (and I don't know where you are!) so I can't help you with where to buy's, etc. I'd suggest you do some reading up on them and check with bird suppliers near you.

Im in pattaya, so I take it pollen has to be bought from a pet store? I will have a look around but the pet shops in thailand dont seem that well stocked with a lot of things.

Hello, Where can you buy nectar? pet shop or another shop?

Thanks

Hi,

I made my own nectar using liquid sugar mixed with water. I have been adding some vitamins to this mixture also.

I used this recipe although I used didnt use granulated sugar I bought the sugar already liquid form from tescos.

Directions for making safe hummingbird food:

  • Mix 1 part sugar with 4 parts water and bring to a boil to kill any bacteria or mold present.
  • Cool and fill feeder.
  • Extra sugar water may be stored in a refrigerator.
  • Red dye should not be added.

  • 3 months later...
