Dudley erupted in action as hundreds gathered to protest against the housing of asylum seekers in local hotels. Demonstrators brandished union flags, countered by a smaller group waving Palestine flags in a fervent Sunday showdown.

The Conservative leader of Dudley Council, Patrick Harley, is exploring legal options against the Home Office on this contentious issue.

Around 200 anti-immigration demonstrators participated in the largely peaceful protest, which unfolded without any arrests.

Harley claimed that the council's stance might have helped ease tensions, emphasising that Dudley faces fewer related issues than other councils with many hotels.

Despite the protests, West Midlands Police confirmed no significant incidents occurred, and thanks were extended to the public for their patience amid minor traffic disruptions, reported the BBC.

In this heated situation, residents expressed their right to protest, with emotions running high. However, Harley urged for calm, highlighting the importance of lawful expression without resorting to violence or vandalism.

West Midlands Police reiterated their commitment to maintaining public safety while balancing freedoms of expression with the need to prevent crime.

The protests are spreading, thank goodness, I wonder if the Government will notice and do anything??

I have serious doubts!

I read recently where the Canadian government has spent $1.1 billion for hotels for muslim refugees.  Pure insanity and no accountability from the

government people responsible for this stupidity.  Another article said all hotels in Niagara Falls are full of muslim refugees paid for by taxpayers.

That's a drop in the ocean compared to the annual £32 billion it costs the UK
