City workers replace drain covers

PATTAYA:--Pattaya workers have replaced a half-dozen drain covers before rainy season really sets in.

Sanitation Department chief Manus Thunginth directed workers to replace iron grates on Second Road that had cracked or rusted.

Workers also used drills and jackhammers to clear drains of obstructions.

Manus said residents can call the Pattaya Call Center at 1337 if they know of more broken drain covers, which pose safety risks to motorists.

So, routine maintenance is big news in Pattaya???? How sad that such an event, a commonplace occurrence in most other places including other cities in Thailand, now rates a mention as newsworthy. Do the voters of Pattaya expect so little of City Hall?ermm.gif
