Citizens rush to buy low-cost products

BANGKOK, 2 June 2012 (NNT) - Citizens continually flocked to purchase items sent directly from factories at an event called ‘Outlet for People, Festival of Goods to ease cost of living’, organized by the Ministry of Industry on its compounds.

The products that received great interest were mostly foodstuffs, such as sugar, fish sauce, canned fish, and fruit juice. Visitors to the fair expressed satisfaction with both the quality and prices of the products offered, saying their prices were lower than in the general market. Aside from food products, electrical appliances also garnered interest from buyers.

Free transportation is provided from the BTS station at Victory Monument to the event on Rama VI Road.

Citizens in the Bang Khae area also rushed to buy lower-cost products at a similar event. The products on offer were specially priced by the Ministry of Commerce. They included, among others, pork, vegetable oil, eggs, sugar, and rice. Though the prices were lowered, some restrictions on purchase were set. For instance, buyers could not purchase more than one kilogram of pork per person or more than three kilograms of sugar per person.
