Employee 'Business Expenses' And 'Overtime'

This is a 'business' topic, but I'd prefer it left in the Phuket section, as my query is specific to what goes on here, and the rates paid in Phuket.

When employees use their own telephones and cars / motorbikes for their employers business, is there usually an 'expenses allowance' paid in addition to a salary?

If so, for travel, is there something like a 'xx baht per kilometre' standard rate?

Also, most pay rates here are based on 'daily rates', whereas western countries tend to use 'hourly rates'. If a work contract shows a Monday - friday 5-day-week, how are pay rates worked out when the employee may have to work an ad-hoc couple of hours, say, on a Saturday?

Hope you business owners out there can give some inout into this. Thanks.

Yes usually for well run businesses dependent on how much they use the said vehicle or telephone. Sometimes best to have a pool car or bike and just let the staff use that. For companies with larger staff you can get corporate mobiles that give free inter company calls and free phones.

If so, for travel, is there something like a 'xx baht per kilometre' standard rate? Not that i am aware of but would probably be about 3-5 baht per km

If the daily rate is 500 baht with 10 hour days then it is common to pay them 50 baht per hour for extra hours worked.

I am sure lots of places do it different but this from my experience is generally accepted by Thai staff
