Moved Outside Of Bkk... But Where To Do My Visa Stuff?

Featured Replies

I've moved in a new place in Samutprakarn, got my work permit almost done, my visa expires at the end of June (NIB), hence I'll need to get a 1 year extension. But, where? Do I still need to go to Changwattana for that? I found out there is an immigration office nearby, that would be a much better option then the endless trip to Laksi. Also, can anyone tell how much the extension will cost?

Thanks in advance! :)

All extensions cost the same 1,900 baht TM.7 fee.

If living in Samut Prakarn Province you use that office for extension of stay.

Oh cool! :) The immigration office is a stone's throw away compared to Cheangwattana. Thanks a lot for your reply! laugh.png

I used the Samut Prakarn office the first 2 years i was here but there always seemed to be a problem of some sort. My work ended up transferring me over to the 1 stop place at Chamchuri sq. Further to travel but absolutely no hassle. Samut Prakarn will also make you wait a month before issuing the extension.

Having said that your experience may be totally different as these places do seem a bit fickle. No problem with the work permit from the labour dept on Sinarkarin rd though.
