On the clubs web site so confirmed, the signing of Argentinian keeper Sergio Romero on a free

Quite a coup and a meet up with his old boss LVG

60 full internationals,28 years old, 6ft 3" ,3 yr contract with option, sound like a great signing.

Already In San Jose and with the team, that was quick.

Couldnt imagine he's come as a number 2 so De Gea must be on his way

Wouldn't say that means that necessary Sparks, any top class professional would be prepared to fight for the no.1 spot plus there's the little factor of probably being on about 4 times what he was on at Sampdoria plus the signing on fee whistling.gif plus if De Gea went wouldn't you then need to sign another keeper ?

No we have Lindergard and the young keeper Sam Johnstone who is a excellent prospect.

Romero has been very good with the Argentina NT but has an undistinguished club career. Known as an excellent shot stopper but struggles at times with corners and not always adept at leaving the comfort of his sticks. I can't see him as a #1 keeper for a contending EPL club but he has surprised me before.coffee1.gif

with a 8 days to go for kick off smile.png I.M.O. find that m/u are far from being the real deal in the t/f window and still have the de gea and di maria pending futures,

fluttering around with the breeze at O/T surely their businesses should have been settled one way or another weeks ago

no quality 5 star striker back up for rooney, find that rather amusing and the IRON TULIP appears in no mans land with SLOW EDDY as his side kick , both seem not capable of pulling a

settled squad together for the opening match against totts, gosh both have had months to do this, the great S.A.F. would have done the needed business in a flash

how do you,s reds find the situation at this point of time??smile.png to me its a embarresment for the biggest club in the world

a top of the morning to all my readersbiggrin.png

I will bite, we have sorted our midfield out, bought the argie keeper incase De gea leaves and we have another keeper Cillisten in the pipe line, Di maria is almost gone and Pedro on his way in, yes a top quality striker is needed but there is another month if the transfer window left,so all in all happy.

Johnstone has gone to Preston on loan according to the clubs web site.

Lindegaard played about 2 games the whole of last season in reserves ,is obviously happy to warm the bench.

Romero may have a settling in period but he's more mature than De Gea was on coming to England ,60 full international caps, surely that means something and he's in a stable relationship which De Gea is not with his g/f in Spain. Hope he does go,the last thing you want is a player who doesnt want to be there, especialy between the sticks

Well time with tell of course but 60 full internationals for Agrentina i am sure he had to handle a few uncomfortable moments during that time. Didn't he knock Netherlands out of the WC with penalty saves ?

Lindegaard wil be there and no shortage of other second string keepers around, still a while to go until the window shuts and this prolonged De Gea soap opera will reach its conclusion.

i have clearly asked for a reds opinion, now be a good little laddy and fluff off and annoy someone else

no bait thrownsmile.png besides ran out of it, on the totts thread y/day , hungry little fluff wits they arebiggrin.png down to the tackle shop to morning for a reload

thks for your reply and sincerely hope u are on the mend from your illnesssmile.png

sure there is another month to go in the t/f market, but my main point is the kick off is only a week away, and your serious rivals for the title appear to be in better shape, from what ever angle u look at it

can m/u afford to give such a start to their rivals????

IRON TULIPS and company have been very slow in clearing up the major issues at the club ,which surely with better management would have been done yonks ago

the signings so far look ordinary, not what i expect of the biggest club to secure

IRON TULIPS has had this whopping black book, ever since he took over at o/t, from my observations fluff all has come out of it,perhaps its full of porno,s which enable him to give a full smile on his dial at press conference when under the gunsmile.pnglaugh.png

just feel that m/u could have been been better prepared for the opening of the season

its a smile.png good morning, to all my fans on the footy forumbiggrin.png

Can't see why a lot of people want to slag LVG off .Look at his record and still full of enthusiasm and humour ,this is his last big job and I'm sure he wants to go out obviously on a high.

I find in his post match conferences he tells it straight not like mealy mouth Mourinho playing the victim and blaming the officials and the FA when thing dont go his way.

Last season people forget United had 13 points from 10 games ,top 4 looked impossible but they got there and that was with highest injury toll in the compeition.

At one stage 19 & 20 years old were in the back 4 ,never has that happened in the history of the club.

Lastly people confuse enthuiasm with arrogance with LVG, its a very Dutch trait having played with and against the Dutch i grew to undrstand that it was just part of their make up.

Whatever happens it going to be one hell of a season just feel sorry for the dozens of good players, especially young ones , that will spend half their season in the stands or on the bench.

I hope United have teed up a few loan deals, theres real talent there that needs to be brought on and you dont improve if you do't play

I certainly have no wish to slag van Gaal off. I just think he's been hugely ineffective and shows signs of being well past his sell by date. A manager of Man Utd is always under a lot of scrutiny and for be he's just been belligerent in his ways and has failed to adapt and understand his squad.

Glad you are feeling better,nev,smile.png

But what about the centre of Uniteds defence ? Two seasons now of Jones,Evans and Smalling......Ramos isnt coming.

You dont win titles with the centre of a defence that is one of the weakest in the Premiership......

Good point. It does seem remiss of van Gaal not to have a plan b in the event of not getting Ramos which was always going to be a big ask.

Looks like DeGea is going to have to have another stellar season.

Our big worry our defence, one thing at least with q strong midfield to protect it we have a better chance, for me hack up to Rooney up front Is a must, he looks way off pacem

I was considering Rooney for my starting line up FF, are you saying he's not looking match ready?

Thanks for your concern over my illness, just to let you know after my prostate operation I had a high cancer count in my blood test on part of the removed prostate, well went to the hospital for tests on Tuesday and they say my results say all OK now, so all banter aside I am very happy to hear the good news and fit for all the banter on here this coming season. smile.png

glad to hear it nev, good news mate. would wish united best of luck for the coming season but as we both know that would be a bare-faced lie.

mad transfer that. di maria should probably have become the best player in the english league but it's just become one of them that a team takes a massive loss on. is it all because of the burglary or is there a bit more to it than that?

Good riddance I say!!, not saying good bye to your team mate's and sneaking off to sign a deal with another club is a C***'s trick in my book.

Yes the burglary was part of the reason, but a big part is he has no bottle and not physically strong enough for the premier league.
