I know that you just get a 15 days visa except if doing a normal land crossing, but if I was to ride my bike to vientienne and back From Thailand (staying in Laos a few weeks) I can apply a tv (or double tv hopefully) there and use that the same coming back by land/bike as if flying?! Bike is in my name so should be no probs taking it over the border...thanks

The bike is already registered in my name...

I think the point being made is that often you need the right paperwork (and insurance) to take a bike out of Thailand and into another country. You can not just drive over the border just as in Europe.

The "right papers" must also include the vehicle/motorcycle "passport" which is obtained at your local Land Transport Department office.

Insurance, generally liability only, will be purchased cheaply on the Lao side after you process through Customs and Immigration. Normally, your Thai insurance won't cover you on the Lao side.

Hi!

Is The crossing on The Land when visa is already running out, on some boarders not unlimited!?

I read on the net that Cambodia boarder 80 km from Buriram , give you only 6 time 14 days each time you enter, but what whould happen when the possible entry is limited on some boarder and I cross a 7. Time without valid visa , is it then impossible to enter Thailand?

different situation...i will be applying for a thai visa in laos before re-entering thailand...

but i believe if you are getting the 15day land crossing visa exmpts then there is no limit how many times you can do it? sure someone has done this?

There is no set limit but immigration can always refuse entry for cause (such as working illegally in Thailand which is a common suspicion) and that would prevent legal entry (although they would allow person entry to leave under illegal entry detention rather than make them live in limbo). Have not seen any verified reports of limits being enforced and only a few of verbal warnings.
